Ky Polanco

(She/Her) Co-Founder & Co-Executive Director

Ky leads behind the scenes to visualize and amplify the voices of change makers from around the world driving the movement for equality and equity for all.

With a collective approach, she nurtures a space for inclusion to advance the feminist movement. As a young girl, Ky’s first passion was in documenting the world around her through the lens of her camera, she saw that telling stories drove connection and empathy. Ultimately, this manifested in developing a media hub for intersectional feminism.

Aisha Becker-Burrowes, Co-founder and Co-Executive Director

AISHA BECKER-BURROWES

Aisha Becker-Burrowes (She/Her) is a writer, researcher, and social impact strategist based in Harlem. She works at the intersections of media and social change and is the co-founder of FEMINIST (@feminist), the largest women-owned social-first digital platform dedicated to women, girls, and gender-expansive people with a global audience of over 6M+. As a purpose-fueled creative and mission-driven storyteller with previous experience at some of the largest media companies today, Aisha's work empowers audiences to create change and inspire action around pressing social issues, ranging from abortion access to social, racial, and gender justice.

She is a Coloradan who advocates for people and the planet. Maya has worked in social impact roles for leaders in the environmental, menstrual equity, and human rights spaces since 2017. She is the founder of Stories of Consent, an organization devoted to community-based consent education

AMANDA BJORN

(She/Her) Contributing Art Curator

Amanda is an artist, primarily a photographer and music maker, with a background in art history, theatre, and curation. She is the founder of Women Photo Tours–a slow travel network that leads photo and art tours for women creatives to Cuba, Guatemala, and Mexico. Creating safe, inclusive spaces to witness and empower other women is her life's project.

Annie (she/her) is the editor and curator for the Feminist Weekly. She is a journalist, social media expert and politics + pop culture junkie. On the cusp of being a gen-z and millennial she understands the power and privilege that social media holds and chooses to use her platform to utilize these tools for good.

Dominique Palmer

(She / Her) Climate Justice Contributor

Dominique Palmer is a climate justice activist based in the UK and organiser in Fridays for Future and Climate Live. For her, fighting for climate justice that protects people and planet is crucial. She focuses on mobilisation and engaging in policy, and has been featured on Forbes 100 Leading UK Environmentalist for her work.

Katy Ho

(She/Her) Writer

Katy is a Chinese-Canadian writer, activist, and daughter of refugees who explores the intersections of gender, climate, and pop culture through her work. When she’s not writing about feminism and climate justice, you can find her hosting book club meetings, visiting her local thrift store, and coaching the next generation of climate leaders.

Alex Kasel

Alex Kasel is an agender writer and artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Their recent projects include the Tightrope Art Exhibition (a feminist painting show in the East Village) and a science fiction novel in the works. Since Alex’s involvement in political debate club and local Death Cafes in high school, they have been committed to seeking truth in a multitude of perspectives and using their skills to fight for social, environmental and economic justice.

Ethel (she/her) is a Cameroonian multidisciplinary artist, editor, and creative consultant, exploring African identity and diaspora cultures through visual storytelling. Her practice examines Africa’s ancient futures from a magical realist lens. Image-making, storytelling, and time-travelling compose the framework of her inquiry. Ethel holds an MSc in Development Studies from SOAS University of London and a BA (Hons) in International Human Rights with a minor in Art History & Criticism.

Blair Imani is a critically-acclaimed award-winning historian, author, social activist, public speaker, educator and influencer. She is the author of two historical books Modern HERstory: Stories of Women and Nonbinary People Rewriting History (2018) and Making Our Way Home: The Great Migration and the Black American Dream (2020). Her work centers women and girls, global Black communities, and the LGBTQ community. Blair Imani is dedicated to making the world a better place and amplifying the voices and work of those fighting the good fight.

Nia Patterson(She/Her) Community DirectorNia Patterson is a well-respected mental health advocate, social activist, artist, content creator, podcaster, and business owner. She is the creator behind @TheFriendINeverWanted and artist behind @SelfLoveToolChest. She is also the host and producer of the Body Trauma Podcast. Her work is mainly centered around the Eating Disorder Recovery, Fat Activism, LGBTQIA+, and Self Love communities. Nia is passionate about advocating for people in marginalized bodies and seeks to bring resources to those who do not readily see representation and healthcare for themselves.

She is the Creative Assistant for @Feminst and leads socials for model Munroe Bergdorf @GoddessPlatform on Instagram. She began her career with her own virtual platform, @iamlexchandra, where she brings a daily dose of much-needed realness to the world of social media by sharing vital pieces of information for the transgender and queer communities.

Professionally, Caitlin is the Outreach and Culture Manager at Reproaction, a national reproductive justice organization that is working to increase access to abortion through bold direct action. Caitlin is also the Board Vice President of the Blue Ridge Abortion Fund, an organization that funds people seeking abortion care in Virginia.
